Maar klopt dat eigenlijk wel? Wij van Happy Bodies gingen op onderzoek uit.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\">Manpo-Kei<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Het verhaal wil dat de Yoshiro Hatano, wetenschapper aan de Japanse Kyushu University of Health and Welfare, ooit is gekomen met het advies om tienduizend stappen per dag te zetten. Hij voorzag dat Japanners de Amerikanen achterna zouden gaan qua leefstijl en bedacht in 1965 de Manpo-Kei genaamd, een stappenteller. \u2018Man\u2019 betekent tienduizend, \u2018po\u2019 betekent stappen en \u2018kei\u2019 staat voor meter: een tienduizendstappenteller dus. In heel Japan ontstonden al snel tienduizendstappenwandelverenigingen en jaren later, in 2015, nam het Japanse ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Arbeid en Welzijn het advies van tienduizend stappen per dag over. Er is echter nooit hard bewijs gevonden voor deze aanbeveling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\">Zitten is het nieuwe roken<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Lekker laten vieren dus, dat advies? Zeker niet! De\u00a0Gezondheidsraad\u00a0adviseert ons wekelijks zo\u2019n 150 minuten matig intensief te bewegen. Daarnaast is het aan te raden twee keer per week\u00a0spierversterkende oefeningen\u00a0te doen. Zorg bovendien dat je niet te lang achter elkaar stilzit. Ook hoogleraar neuropsychologie en bewegingswetenschappen Erik Scherder is voorstander van matig intensief bewegen. In \u00e9\u00e9n van zijn\u00a0gastblogs\u00a0voor zorgverzekeraar Zilveren Kruis schrijft hij: Een uur op je kont, is vijf minuten eerder dood. Lichamelijke inactiviteit is de vierde doodsoorzaak wereldwijd en dat maakt zitten volgens hem het nieuwe roken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\">Wat is matig intensief bewegen?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Maar wat is dan precies matig intensief bewegen? Dat is voor iedereen anders, lezen we op de site van de\u00a0Hartstichting,\u00a0maar bewegen is het meest effectief als je hart sneller gaat kloppen en je het warm krijgt. Dat kan dus prima zijn door een stevige wandeling, maar je kunt ook lekker gaan fietsen, zwemmen of een dansje wagen. Een stappenteller kan absoluut motiveren, maar is dus zeker niet de heilige graal. Als je sport met de\u00a0Milon-cirkel\u00a0train je in twee keer 35 minuten per tien dagen je hele lichaam en dat kan ook als je wat ouder bent of last van wat kwaaltjes hebt.
