About us

Happy Bodies uses electronically controlled training under the guidance of an experienced lifestyle coach, an innovative method that uses technology to increase the effectiveness of strength training. By offering precise resistance during both the concentric and eccentric phases of an exercise, the training result is optimized.

This approach provides more muscle stimuli, a more efficient training session and less chance of injuries. Scientific studies show that this way of training can lead to significantly more muscle growth and strength building in a shorter time. But how exactly does this work? And what scientific principles are behind it?

Full Range Training: maximum muscle activation throughout the whole
movement

Traditional strength training with barbells or plate-loaded machines often limits muscle loading to the middle of the movement – the point where the muscle is strongest. At the beginning and end of the movement, the muscle is weaker and there is little resistance. However, electronically controlled machines adjust the resistance dynamically to the user force curve. This way the muscle is effectively activated over the entire range of motion.

Advantage: You prevent muscle shortening and stimulate full muscle development, which contributes to better posture, flexibility and injury prevention.

Eccentric Overload: train harder where it really counts

The eccentric phase of an exercise (the return or lengthening movement) is where the muscle is strongest and has the most potential for muscle growth. However, with traditional training, you are limited to the weight you can lift in the concentric (upward) phase. Electronically controlled machines allow you to train with up to 60% more resistance during the eccentric phase – without the need for assistance from a training partner. This creates more micro-trauma in the muscle fibers, which is essential for muscle repair and growth.

Benefit: More mechanical tension = more muscle growth.

Metabolic Overload: faster and safer to muscle failure

In traditional strength training, it is mainly the last repetitions – when the muscle is almost exhausted – that provide the greatest training stimulus. This is called training to muscle failure. Unfortunately, this is often done inefficiently (many 'unnecessary' repetitions) or unsafely (e.g. with cheat reps or drop sets). With electronically controlled training, such as via isokinetic resistance, the maximum effort is required from the first repetition, completely controlled and safe. This leads to rapid metabolic exhaustion, an important signal for muscle adaptation.

Advantage: More growth hormone production, more muscle mass and better training results in less time.

Why choose to train at Happy Bodies?

In addition to the personal guidance of our experienced lifestyle coaches, we use the latest technology in strength training. This transforms the way we look at muscle building, rehabilitation and performance. This method combines science, safety and efficiency for maximum results.
